THE MANJI GATHERINGS: ROOM TO BEGIN

Whether you’re starting university, returning to study or figuring out your next step, join us for an afternoon of cooking, conversation and reflection. In collaboration with the Whitworth and MUD Kitchen, we'll explore the idea of what our minds consume – the thoughts we take and what we give our attention to.

Ending the evening with a shared meal, we'll take time to slow down, share ideas and experiences with others aged 18–30 navigating similar moments of change, and make space for whatever comes next.

This gathering is part of a series that began at without SHAPE without FORM in Slough and now continues at the Whitworth in Manchester. It invites honest exchange about what’s working, and what isn’t, within ourselves and the systems we inhabit. Each gathering takes place around Roo Dhissou’s Manji (A String of Love, 2025), currently featured in REFLECTIONS – SANGAT AND THE SELF at the Whitworth, offering a space for fellowship, shared progress and collective care.

Please note: All food prepared as part of this event will be gluten-free and vegan.
